ChevLink Cyber — Terms of Use

Agreement to These Terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and ChevLink Technologies ("ChevLink", "we", "us", or "our") governing your access to and use of ChevLink Cyber (the "Service", defined in Section 5).

By inviting, installing, configuring, operating, or otherwise using the Service — or by using any ChevLink Cyber tool surfaced through the CRN Director dashboard — you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

If you accept these Terms on behalf of a community, server, organisation, or other group (a "Community"), you represent that you are authorised to bind that Community, and "you" refers to both you and that Community.

Definitions

• "Service" — the ChevLink Cyber Discord bot together with all associated features, APIs, and the ChevLink Cyber tools provided through the CRN Director dashboard at crnsecure.com (see Section 5).
• "Community" — a Discord server, and the group or organisation that operates it, that has added or configured the Service.
• "Administrator" or "Staff" — a person authorised by a Community to install, configure, or operate the Service or to issue commands and enforcement actions through it.
• "Member" — any Discord user present in, or interacting with, a Community where the Service is active.
• "CRN Network" — the shared enforcement and intelligence network operated by ChevLink through which bans and threat data are propagated between participating Communities.
• "Network Ban" — a ban that is enforced across all participating Communities on the CRN Network.
• "Service Ban" — the removal of a user or Community from the Service and the CRN Network, and a prohibition on further use of the Service.
• "CRN Director" — the operator and staff dashboard at crnsecure.com/director, including the Screen tab and other surfaces that query or control ChevLink Cyber.

Eligibility

To use the Service you must:

• Meet Discord's own minimum age requirement (at least 13 years old, or the higher minimum age that applies in your country) and comply with the Discord Terms of Service and Community Guidelines at all times;
• Have the authority to add or configure a bot in, and to make moderation decisions for, the Community on whose behalf you act; and
• Not be a person who has been Service Banned, or who is barred from receiving the Service under applicable law or sanctions.

The Service is intended to be operated by Community Administrators and Staff. It is not a consumer product for personal, individual use (see Section 6).

What ChevLink Cyber Does

ChevLink Cyber is a Discord security and community-protection service. So that you understand exactly what you are agreeing to operate, the Service's principal capabilities are summarised below. Features are added, changed, or removed over time (see the changelog).

4.1 Automated protection

• Anti-raid & anti-nuke — detection of mass joins, mass channel/role deletions, and mass bans, with automated responses including lockdown, quarantine, and restoration from server backups.
• AutoMod & word filtering — spam, mass-mention, invite, and CAPS detection, and a tiered word filter that always blocks slurs and illegal sexual content and optionally blocks general profanity.
• Link scanning — scanning of URLs in messages against threat-intelligence sources (including VirusTotal) to detect and remove malicious links.
• Scam, NSFW & safety detection — detection of phishing/scam patterns and explicit imagery, and automated child-safety scanning (see Section 13).
• Account screening — alt-account and compromised-account detection, join-time background checks and risk scoring, invite tracking, and ghost-ping detection.
• Server backup & restore, lockdown, quarantine, verification, and related recovery and access-control tools.

4.2 Staff & enforcement tools

• Network Bans and Service Bans across the CRN Network (see Section 10 and Section 11), including server-level network bans.
• Whitelisting, staff tiers and permissions, appeals, ban management, threat tracking ("Radar"), and reporting tools.
• Investigative lookups — the /user info command and equivalent context-menu and Director tools, which compile a background-check summary for a Discord user. This may include account age and flags, Network Ban status, linked Roblox account details, group memberships, and risk signals. Use of these features is strictly limited to legitimate Community moderation (see Section 6).

4.3 Integrations

The Service integrates with third-party platforms to deliver these capabilities, including Discord, Roblox and the Emergency Response: Liberty County (ERLC) API, Roblox account-link providers, threat-intelligence and content-safety providers, the US National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline, and other ChevLink products. See the Privacy Policy for the data shared with each.

Scope — Bot & CRN Director Tools

These Terms apply to the Service in all the forms it is delivered, including:

• the ChevLink Cyber Discord bot and all of its commands, automated modules, and APIs; and
• all ChevLink Cyber tools provided through the CRN Director dashboard at crnsecure.com/director — including, without limitation, the Screen tab and any other page, panel, or control that queries, displays, or operates ChevLink Cyber data or functionality.

Using a ChevLink Cyber tool in CRN Director is use of the Service, and is subject to these Terms in the same way as using the bot directly — including the community-only restriction in Section 6, the acceptable-use rules in Section 7, and the enforcement provisions in Section 11. Where other parts of the CRN platform have their own terms, those terms apply in addition to (and not instead of) these Terms for ChevLink Cyber functionality.

Community-Only Use

ChevLink Cyber is licensed solely for the protection and moderation of genuine Communities. It is provided to Community Administrators so they can secure and run their servers — it is not an investigative, surveillance, or background-check product for personal use.

The investigative features described in Section 4.2 are made available to support legitimate moderation decisions within a Community — for example, assessing whether a member or applicant poses a risk to that Community. They must not be used to compile information about people for any purpose unrelated to operating and protecting your Community.

We reserve the right to determine, in our reasonable judgement, whether a server is a genuine Community or has been set up to circumvent this restriction, including by reviewing usage patterns (such as a server that performs lookups but operates no real Community).

Acceptable Use & Prohibited Conduct

You agree to use the Service lawfully, in good faith, and only for legitimate Community security and moderation. You must not, and must not permit any Administrator, Staff member, or third party to:

• Use the Service, including /user info or any lookup or Director tool, for stalking, harassment, doxxing, intimidation, surveillance, or to compile information about a person outside legitimate Community moderation (see Section 6);
• Add the Service to a server that is not a genuine Community, or operate a server primarily to access the Service's investigative features;
• Issue Network Bans, Service Bans, reports, or threat-radar entries that are false, retaliatory, discriminatory, or not made in good faith, or otherwise abuse the shared enforcement system;
• Use the Service to violate the rights of others, to break any applicable law, or to breach the Discord Terms of Service, Discord Community Guidelines, Roblox terms, or the terms of any integrated third-party service;
• Upload, transmit, store, or process unlawful content through, or in a manner detectable by, the Service — including child sexual abuse material, which is addressed in Section 13;
• Attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, scrape, circumvent, or gain unauthorised access to the Service, its APIs, the CRN Network, or its infrastructure, or to interfere with its detection or enforcement systems;
• Resell, sublicense, rent, or commercially exploit the Service or the data it produces without our prior written permission; or
• Misrepresent your identity or authority, or use the Service to impersonate ChevLink, its staff, or its internal tooling.

We may investigate suspected violations and take any action described in Section 11.

Responsibilities of Community Administrators

If you add or operate the Service in a Community, you are responsible for how it is used there. In particular, you agree that:

• You have the authority to deploy automated moderation and security tooling in your Community and to make the enforcement decisions you make through the Service;
• You will inform your Members, through your rules, onboarding, or a similar notice, that the Community uses automated security tooling that processes activity within the server (including messages, links, images, and join information) for safety and moderation purposes;
• For the personal data of your Members, you act as the data controller and ChevLink acts as your processor to the extent it processes that data on your behalf (see Section 14 and the Privacy Policy), and you have a valid legal basis for that processing under applicable law;
• You are responsible for the actions of your Administrators and Staff, including any enforcement actions they issue and any misuse of investigative features; and
• You will keep access credentials, server keys, and staff permissions secure and limited to trusted individuals.

Compliance Reviews & Server Access

To protect Communities and the integrity of the CRN Network, and to ensure the Service is used as intended, ChevLink reserves the right to review any Community that uses the Service.

What a review may involve

A compliance review may include joining the server, observing its channels and configuration, inspecting how the Service is set up and used (including use of investigative features such as /user info), and assessing whether the server is operated as a genuine Community as required by Section 6.

How we treat what we observe

Anything we see or access during a review is handled in accordance with these Terms and our Privacy Policy, and is used only for compliance, safety, security, and enforcement purposes. We do not use it for any unrelated purpose.

Your cooperation

By using the Service, you consent to these reviews and agree not to obstruct, evade, or interfere with them, and not to conceal non-compliant activity from them. You should ensure your Members are aware — through your rules or a similar notice — that the Community uses the Service and may be reviewed for compliance (see Section 8). Obstructing a review, or a review revealing a breach of these Terms, may result in suspension, removal, and Service Ban as described in Section 11.

The CRN Network

ChevLink Cyber operates as part of the CRN Network — a shared enforcement and threat-intelligence system that allows bans and safety signals to be propagated between participating Communities. This network effect is a core part of how the Service protects Communities.

Participation

By adding the Service and registering your Community with the network, you participate in the CRN Network. Threat signals and ban data generated in connection with your Community may be shared with the network, and your Community may receive and enforce Network Bans issued elsewhere.

Opt-out

Enforcement of inbound Network Bans is configurable. A Community may opt out of automatically enforcing Network Bans using the controls provided (for example, the /opt-out command). Opting out affects whether your Community automatically enforces network bans; it does not entitle you to misuse the Service or exempt you from these Terms.

No guarantee

Network Bans, risk scores, background checks, and automated detections are tools to assist human moderators. They are produced by automated and partly probabilistic systems and may contain errors or false positives. You remain responsible for reviewing and for your own enforcement decisions.

Network Bans, Service Bans, Suspension & Removal

To protect Communities and the integrity of the CRN Network, we (and authorised CRN Staff) may take enforcement action.

Actions we may take

• Network Ban — restrict a user across participating Communities, where there is evidence of raiding, scamming, exploitation, doxxing, distribution of illegal content, or similar conduct, or following repeated rule violations;
• Service Ban — remove a user or Community from the Service and the CRN Network and bar further use, including (without limitation) for breach of Section 6 or Section 7; and
• Suspension or removal — suspend, limit, or remove the Service from a Community, with or without notice where we reasonably consider it necessary.

Records

We keep records of enforcement actions (such as the user or server affected, the reason, the issuing party, and a timestamp) for accountability, appeals, and the operation of the network. How these records are handled is described in the Privacy Policy.

Appeals

If you believe an enforcement action against you is mistaken, you may appeal through the appeals process we make available, or by contacting us (Section 21). Where a ban originates from a Community Administrator's own moderation decision, you should also raise it with that Community. We will review appeals in good faith but do not guarantee any particular outcome.

Roblox & ERLC Integration

The Service offers optional integration with Roblox and with Emergency Response: Liberty County (ERLC) private servers, including Roblox account linking, Roblox-wide bans, and synchronisation of enforcement to ERLC servers via the ERLC Private Server API.

• If you connect an ERLC server, you represent that you are authorised to operate and moderate that server and to register its server key with the Service;
• Your use of these integrations is also subject to Roblox's terms and the ERLC API Acceptable Use Policy; and
• Roblox account links and Roblox bans may be used in background checks and propagated to connected ERLC servers, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Illegal Content & Child Safety

ChevLink has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material ("CSAM") and other illegal content.

You must not upload, transmit, request, or store CSAM or other illegal content in any Community where the Service is active. Attempting to do so is a serious breach of these Terms and will result in immediate removal and Service Ban, in addition to the reporting described above. Nothing in these Terms limits our ability to comply with mandatory reporting and legal obligations.

Data Protection & Privacy

Our collection and use of personal data in connection with the Service is described in the ChevLink Cyber Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. By using the Service you acknowledge that policy.

Roles under data-protection law

For the activity and personal data of Members within your Community, you (the Community) are generally the data controller and ChevLink acts as a data processor acting on your configured instructions. ChevLink acts as an independent controller for certain data it determines the purposes of — for example, CRN Network enforcement records and cross-Community threat intelligence. This allocation is explained further in the Privacy Policy.

Your obligations

As controller for your Community, you are responsible for having a lawful basis for processing your Members' data (under the UK GDPR, EU GDPR, or other applicable law), for informing your Members, and for handling their data-protection requests, with our assistance where appropriate.

Service improvement

We may use aggregated, de-identified signals and samples derived from detections to maintain and improve the Service's security and detection systems, as described in the Privacy Policy. We do not sell personal data.

Intellectual Property & Licence

The Service, including its software, models, designs, logos, and the ChevLink and CRN names and branding, is owned by ChevLink Technologies or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for the permitted purposes in these Terms, for as long as you comply with them.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from any part of the Service, or remove or obscure any proprietary notices, except as expressly permitted. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

Service Availability & Disclaimers

We work to keep the Service reliable, but it is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, that it will detect or prevent every threat, raid, scam, exploit, or item of harmful content, or that automated detections, risk scores, or bans will always be accurate.

The Service is a tool to assist Community moderation; it does not replace human judgement, and you remain responsible for moderating your Community and for your enforcement decisions. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ChevLink will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, goodwill, members, or profits, arising out of or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the Service — including any moderation action taken or not taken, any false positive or false negative, or any third-party conduct in a Community.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the total amounts you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the liability, or (b) USD 100.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations or exclusions of liability. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless ChevLink Technologies and its operators from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and reasonable expenses (including legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use or misuse of the Service; (b) your breach of these Terms; (c) your enforcement, moderation, or investigative decisions, or your misuse of investigative features; or (d) your breach of any law or of any third party's rights. This section does not apply to the extent a claim arises from our own breach of these Terms or our unlawful conduct.

Changes, Term & Termination

Changes to the Service or Terms

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms; if you do not agree, you must stop using the Service.

Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time by removing the bot from your Community and ceasing to use the Director tools. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, in whole or in part, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Service, the CRN Network, or other Communities.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including 13, 14, 15, 17, 18, and 20 — survive termination. Enforcement records and network data may be retained after termination as described in the Privacy Policy.

Governing Law & Your Rights

These Terms, and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them or the Service, are governed by the laws applicable at ChevLink Technologies' principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles, and you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts there for any dispute, subject to the paragraph below.

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
